About the Professional Pilot Society (PPS)

The Professional Pilot Society (PPS) is committed to fueling safer skies by promoting the highest safety standards in civil aviation. It focuses on mitigating risks like pilot fatigue, encouraging voluntary safety issue reporting without fear of penalization, and advancing technical knowledge among pilots. Through collaboration with regulatory bodies and the establishment of specialized committees, PPS ensures professional pilots play a central role in enhancing safety and operational excellence in aviation.

Your Privacy

    The Professional Pilot Society ensures the privacy of its members through the following mechanisms:

  • Confidentiality of Membership Information : A confidential register of members containing their names and details is maintained securely and kept in the custody of the President. Access to this register is prohibited to all other members.
  • Membership Cards : Members receive cards with only a QR code and a unique digital membership number without revealing sensitive details.
  • Restricted Information Access : Confidential membership information is not disclosed in public forums, ensuring individual privacy​

Legal Advice

  • Representation in Employment Matters: Offering advice and representation related to professional duties or trade disputes through the General Secretary.
  • Legal Aid Discretion: Legal assistance is granted at the discretion of the National Executive Body (NEB) based on recommendations from the Advisor for Legal Affairs.
  • Case Selection: The NEB may decline assistance for cases posing significant risks to PPS or conflicting with its objectives.​
  • These provisions aim to safeguard members' rights while managing the organization's resources responsibly.

    The Professional Pilot Society (PPS) offers legal assistance to members for employment-related issues, trade disputes, and professional duties, at the discretion of its National Executive Body (NEB). Assistance includes advice, representation, and coverage of legal costs, but members must reimburse costs if conditions are violated.

    The Professional Pilot Society (PPS) has three main types of memberships: Founding Members, who played a key role in establishing the society; Lifetime Members, who make a one-time payment for lifelong benefits; and General Members, comprising active pilots working as captains, active first officers and retired pilots/unemployed pilots. Membership fees vary by category, ensuring inclusivity across different career stages. Additional membership types may be introduced based on decisions by the National Executive Body
